Welcome to Scout Troop 51’s official website. Our troop is dedicated to fostering growth, leadership, and community service among our scouts. We believe that scouting provides a unique opportunity for young individuals to develop important life skills, build lasting friendships, and gain a deeper understanding of their responsibilities within the community. Our troop accepts children from the ages of 11.5 to 18, boys and girls, and we encourage everyone to join us on this exciting journey of personal development and adventure. Whether you’re interested in outdoor activities, skill-building workshops, or community outreach projects, there’s something for everyone in Scout Troop 51!
Wilderness Camping
- During the warm seasons we will go camping all over Illinois and Michigan
- We sleep in our own tents and cook all of our meals on camp fire or small stove
- We teach our scouts to work as a team to succeed at our tasks.
Winter Outings
- Our troop doesn’t shut down during the winter. We move it in doors with cabins.
- With many activities still available like cabin camping or Winter Hikes. Our Troop keeps learning and having fun.
When we’re not Camping or Hiking
- We meet every Monday at at St. Ferdinand School JTC Center at 7:15
- At these meetings we go over First Aid, Knot Tying and other survival skills.
